The purpose of the D-PAN Gallery is to provide artists with a unique forum in which to showcase their work but also an opportunity to increase their brand awareness with an audience of both deaf and hard of hearing as well as hearing consumers.
The D-PAN Gallery focuses upon three general areas of creativity:
Entertainment music, film and television, theater, poetry, and comedy.
Visual Arts painting, photography, sculpture, illustration.
Media Arts graphic design, animation and special effects, visual and digital media, game design and programming, web design and other interactive media.
Overview:
The goal of the Gallery is to feature an artist per month. This is, however, largely dependent on the number and quality of submissions.
To be considered for the Gallery, artists are asked to complete a submission form - available on the D-PAN website. The applications are then reviewed by the D-PAN Gallery Committee. The Committee is made up of members of the D-PAN Board of Directors, D-PAN staff and external experts in each of the three areas of focus.
In addition to increased visibility for the artist, D-PAN will enable artists whose work is featured to sell those pieces on the site. While this feature is largely applicable to visual artists and some work in media arts, all artists selected will be able to provide a link to their portfolio as well as have their bio featured in the Gallery.
D-PAN will aggressively work to drive key constituents to the Gallery members of the media, art collectors, artist managers and publicists and potential employers in search of talent.
